Curriculum

All our schools follow the National curriculum - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk). Each school takes this as their starting point. They teach children the knowledge and skills necessary to progress well and so that they are very well prepared for the next stage in their education and beyond. 

We encourage all our schools to tailor the content of their curriculum so that it is ambitious and inspiriing for all, including by taking key aspects of the local area into account.

We expect all our schools to plan their curriculum so that it helps children to learn and remember. Schools do this by identifying what needs to be learnt and when in an organised way. All schools use a range of assessment methods, formal and informal, to understand how well children are learning.
